How to Apply
BlinkSky Foundation seeks to create lasting, transformative impact through strategic grant partnerships. We prefer not to be the only funder for a project but to participate with other donors in supporting initiatives led by nonprofit partners. Organizations should make significant fundraising progress before approaching the Foundation for a grant.
Eligibility
Organizations may qualify for a grant partnership if they:
- Hold 501(c)(3) public charity status or equivalent recognized nonprofit designation
- Demonstrate alignment with BlinkSky Foundation program areas
- Maintain paid staff and sustainable operating budgets
- Have secured substantial external funding for the proposed initiative
- Can demonstrate measurable community impact
What We Look For
The Foundation prioritizes organizations that demonstrate:
- Strong leadership — Experienced executive team with an engaged, investing board
- Financial sustainability — Consistent positive budgets and diversified revenue streams
- Broad donor support — A demonstrated base of community and institutional backing
- Documented effectiveness — Clear, measurable outcomes and community impact
- Long-term vision — Capacity to sustain impact beyond the grant period
Application Process
Step 1 — Review Guidelines
Review our program areas and grantmaking priorities. If you believe your organization aligns with our mission, send an initial inquiry to grants@blinkskyfoundation.org to discuss eligibility before submitting a formal application.
Step 2 — Submit Your Application
Prepare and submit the following materials as a single PDF:
- Grant request letter (signed, on letterhead, maximum 5 pages) addressing your organization's mission, history, programs, impact, and specific funding request with timeline and expected outcomes
- Itemized project budget with major expense categories
- Current operating budget
- Fundraising status report showing all confirmed and pending funding sources
- Most recent audit or financial statements
- Board of directors list with names, titles, and affiliations
- Current IRS determination letter or equivalent documentation

Step 3 — Review
Applications are reviewed by Foundation leadership and program officers. Organizations that fall clearly outside our giving priorities will be notified promptly.
Step 4 — Due Diligence
Qualified applicants may be contacted for additional information, meetings, or site visits as part of our evaluation process.
Step 5 — Decision
Grant decisions are made by the Board of Directors. Applicants will be notified of the outcome following Board action.
